Septorhinoplasty is an operation to straighten the inside the nose and the bones giving shape to the outside of the nose. This makes it different from a septoplasty, which is an operation to straighten the inside, but not the outside of the nose. These operations can help improve air flow through the nose and feelings of a blocked nose. There many potential causes of a blocked nose. Sometimes, this operation may be combined with a procedure to shrink the turbinates – fleshy growths inside the nose that can also cause blockage if too large.
